Match Report

Otford Reserves started the game with a makeshift defence, 18 yr olds Tom Smith and Tom Parker paired up as centre backs with Charlie Spall and Ryan Owen  fullbacks, playing against a good young Kemsing team With some prolific goal scorers this was always going to be tough, despite Kemsing dominating the first half the defence and goalkeeper Mark Lambourne managed to limit their opportunities, Micky Duncan pulled up early with a hamstring injury leaving way for the calm Josh Hollands to bring a better balance to the midfield, the O's managed very little in the way of a goal threat during the first have possibly due to how deep we were playing plus a first time pairing of a Paul Scott and Lewis Willard, Later in the second half Otford produced more in attack but not before going 2-0 down, a Kemsing midfielder hitting a speculative low drive which went on off the post, possibly helped by the injury to goalkeeper Lambourne who struggled to stay on with a back injury, The visitors second goal came after what should of been a touch line clearance, possession was remained and somehow found its way into the centre for a simple side foot pass the advancing keeper, Martin Cooley was then reintroduced and after and great run into the box was clipped for a penalty, Josh Holland smashed home to make it 2-1 setting up a frantic last 10 for the visitors. The O's almost snatched the equaliser at the death, Charlie Spall found himself with just the keeper to beat but the Ex Otford lad produced a fantastic save to deny any spoils. Caretaker Manager praised the back four in particular Tom Parker added out by MOM Tom Smith.
